"Selection Monday" came and went yesterday, and the day was a good one for Charli Turner Thorne's team. The Sun Devils were given a No. 2 seed from the selection committee - their highest placement ever in the NCAA Tournament.

The team will open the tournament on Friday afternoon at Wells Fargo Arena against 15th-seeded New Mexico State. The winner of that game will advance to face either Tennessee or Green Bay on Sunday.

Hope springs eternal, and as spring practice begins for the Arizona State Sun Devils, Todd Graham and company are eager to put a disappointing 2015 season behind them. Our own Kaelen Jones was on hand for all of the festivities on Monday, and you can read his account of the opening practice here.

Arizona State will practice 14 more times over the next few weeks before breaking for the summer. Because of the renovations to Sun Devil Stadium, no Spring Game will be contested for the next two years.
