Yantis brings great experience in the Arizona high school scene to Tempe. In 2013, he started the Arizona Christian football program. ACU is an NAIA school with a roster comprised primarily with former Arizona high school players. After a 2-7 record in his first year, the Firestorm went 6-3 in 2015.
Very smart hire of @donnieyantis as ASU on-campus recruiting coordinator. NAIA Region 5 COY, great local knowledge/resources/relationships

Prior to his time at ACU, he served as the head coach of Paradise Valley High School in the Valley for 14 seasons.
Yantis is the second former Arizona high school football coach to be hired by Arizona State in the last month as former Chaparral head coach Conrad Hamilton joined the ASU staff as a defensive analyst on April 4.
