Daily Devil Dish: Jon Rahm wins the Ben Hogan award again, and #Pac12AfterDark is in trouble

The Pac-12 CEO Group announced a change to television agreements with ESPN and FOX to reduce the number of football games on the Pac-12 Networks starting at 7 p.m. or later. Games can now start at 2:30 p.m. or 6 p.m. local time and overlap with the ESPN or FOX window.

Of course, the late start times and the general chaotic nature of the late-night Pac-12 football games led to the popular #Pac12AfterDark, but fans will likely see the same crazy action and get a few more hours of sleep as well.

It was also announced today that ASU's road contest at University of Texas at San Antonio will kick off on Friday, September 16 at 6:30 PT on ESPN2.

ASU Golf

The men's golf team begins its campaign for a third NCAA title this weekend in Eugene, Oregon. The Sun Devils are led by senior Jon Rahm, who recently won the 2016 Ben Hogan award, given annually to the nation's top collegiate golfer. Rahm is the first back-to-back recepient of the award.

The women's golf team also took home individual awards.

Freshman Linnea Strom and junior Monica Vaughn were named First-Team adn Second-Team All-American, respectively. They are the 75th and 76th All-Americans in program history.

ESports... yes, eSports

The Pac-12 CEO Group gave the Pac-12 Networks permission to host eSports competitions with schools in the conference. Beginning this year, teams from Pac-12 schools will compete in specific games in head-to-head matchups and a tournament that will act as a conference tournament event.

That mean more dominance from ASU's own Real Dream Team, who took home the Heroes of the Dorm title this year. It hasn't been announced which games will be played, but here's to hoping we see some Heroes of the Storm action.
