Simonovic qualifies for Rio Olympics with Serbia: According to the Sun Devil Athletics website, ASU junior Katarina Simonovic will represent Serbia at the 2016 Rio Olympics in the 200-meter freestyle event. Simonovic qualified by recording a time of 1:58.87 during the 2016 Settecolli Trophy on Sunday. Her event is scheduled to begin on August 8, three days after the Olympic Games start.

Rahm among four Open qualifiers at Quicken Loans: In his professional debut, former ASU golfer Jon Rahm secured a berth to play in the Open Championship after finishing in a tie for third at the Quicken Loans National on Sunday. He finished four shots behind winner Billy Hurley III  Rahm earned one of four qualifying spots for what will be his first Open Championship event, doing so just a week after making his first major start at Oakmont.
