The Arizona State Sun Devils are behind by double digits early against the visiting California Golden Bears, but the scoreboard is not the team’s only problem at the moment.
Star running back Kalen Ballage went down late in the first quarter with a left leg injury and appeared to be in major pain as he walked off the field.
Facing a 3rd & 9, quarterback Manny Wilkins found Ballage through the air for his first touch of the game. He went down hard on the tackle, however, hurting his leg in the process.
Ballage would need help walking off the field and was then seen having ice taped to his leg by trainers. He has since been walking around the Arizona State sideline and riding a stationary bike, although ESPN2 has reported that Ballage would miss the rest of the game.
This story will be updated throughout the night as the situation progresses.
