A consensus three-star prospect, Simpson also received offers from Louisville, Houston and Memphis, among others, according to recruiting services.
Simpson has made 80 tackles so far this season, sacking quarterbacks five times and intercepting a pass in six games. He’s also carried the ball 18 times for 137 yards and three touchdowns out of the backfield.
This is the fourth 2018 commit for Todd Graham and company out of Texas, a fertile recruiting ground for the Sun Devils. Simpson is also the fourth linebacker committed to join the roster next season.
The Sun Devils lose linebackers A.J. Latu, DJ Calhoun and Koron Crump to graduation this offseason, leaving most of the starting jobs in the unit open to competition.
