At 6 foot 2, 235 pounds Matus is the ideal size for a strong-side defensive end and was ranked as the No. 40 prospect at the position and No. 113 in Texas. Matus joins OLB Stanley Lambert, CB Dominique Harrison and RB Brock Sturges as ASU’s commits from the Lone Star State.
Matus chose ASU over reported offers from UL-Monroe, Washington State, North Texas, Navy, Tulsa, Yale, Texas State and Army among others, per 247sports.com and rivals.com.
Below are highlights from Matus’ sophomore year.
