It was a lights out kind of night for the Arizona State Sun Devils, as their offense torched the Arkansas Razorbacks from start to finish in a 89-43 victory at the Wells Fargo Arena Thurday.
It’s late-December. The weather may be cooling down, but the Sun Devils were only just heating up.
ASU bulldozed its way to another win as the Sun Devils kept the Razorbacks under control holding them to 30 percent shooting.
Arizona State on offense found many ways to overwhelm Arkansas. The Razorbacks had 23 turnovers, which resulted in the 31 points ASU points. It was another high performance from the paint for ASU, scoring 46 points inside taking advantage of the Razorbacks’ defensive efforts.
ASU made improvements in their passing, sharing the ball to run their offense smoothly. By the end of the game, the Sun Devils shot 51 percent from the field.
However, the most impressive take away from this game for the Sun Devils was their three-point shooting. The Sun Devils shot 12-for-20 form three at a 60 percent clip. Courtney Ekmark made seven shots behind the arc. In the process, Ekmark tied ASU’s record for triples made in a game. She racked up 23 points and grabbed three of the Sun Devils’ 41 rebounds.
In their next match up, the Sun Devils head to Colorado, opening up Pac-12 play on Friday, Dec. 29 at 7 p.m. MT.
