With one of the most historic victories and incredible defensive performances of the decade on the line against No. 5 ranked Washington on the line in Tempe, Arizona State’s offense needed a hero to clinch an upset over the Huskies.
The most unlikely of Sun Devil heros would emerge.
Junior tight end Ceejhay French-Love caught a pass that sailed over the head of sophomore receiver N’Keal Harry on a crucial fourth down for ASU and allotted the Devils a chance to take a knee and run out the clock.
It was -- much like the majority of the game -- an unbelievable moment, one that had to be seen to believe and rocked a packed Sun Devil Stadium to its core. French-Love’s tremendous heads-up catch would become legendary for the remainder of the season and likely for many more.
The play begins at 2:29.
