Former Williams Field High School (AZ) place kicker Brandon Ruiz has signed and sent in his National Letter of Intent, making his commitment to the Arizona State Sun Devils official. Ruiz gave his verbal commitment to Arizona State last month and was recently named the Chris Sailer Place Kicker of the Year, an annual award that goes to the country’s top kicker.
In 2016, Ruiz converted on 17 of 20 field goals and made all but one of his extra point attempts. He also had a make from 58 yards in his senior season at Williams Field.
247Sports ranks Ruiz as the No. 2 kicker in the country and is listed as a three-star prospect. Scout also has him ranked as a three-star.
Ruiz stands 5-foot-10 and weights in at around 165 pounds. The Gilbert product was originally committed to Alabama, but decommitted from Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide back on January 15. He then announced his switch to the Sun Devils one day later.
