The Scottsdale Saguaro (Ariz.) trio that committed to the Arizona State Sun Devils didn’t completely maintain the pact through to National Signing Day, but landing two of the three isn’t so bad.
One of the two that stayed true: offensive guard Corey Stephens, who signed the required paperwork on Wednesday’s National Signing Day, ensuring he’ll sport maroon and gold at the next juncture in his football career.
Stephens originally committed to ASU on June 16, 2016, alongside high school teammates Kyle Soelle and Jared Poplawski. Soelle has signed his letter of intent to confirm he’ll be joining Stephens in Tempe, however Poplawski ended up flipping to Colorado on National Signing Day.
Standing at least 6-foot-2, 285 pounds, Stephens will compete for a role along the offensive line, which is one of the most youth-laden groups on the roster.
