It came down to the final day of the regular season, but the Arizona State Sun Devils now know their placement for next week’s Pac-12 Tournament.

After an Arizona State loss and Utah victory on Saturday, the Sun Devils are assured of being either the No. 8 or No. 9 seed in Las Vegas. They will face either Stanford or Washington State in that contest, with the opponent being confirmed after tonight’s game between the Cougars and UCLA.

Arizona State won both of their games against the Cardinal this season but was swept by Ernie Kent’s Washington State team.

That 8-9 game will tip-off at 1:00 p.m. (MST) on Wednesday and be televised by the Pac-12 Networks.

Arizona State finished the regular season with a record of 7-11 in league play. That season ended earlier today with a loss to rival Arizona inside Wells Fargo Arena.

The winner of the 8-9 game in Las Vegas will go on to face the tournament’s one seed on Thursday afternoon. That team is still to be determined, but they will be playing their first game of the tournament by virtue of finishing in the top four.

In order to win the Pac-12 Tournament and advance to the NCAA’s, the Sun Devils will need to win four games in four days in Nevada.
