Katy High School (Texas) defensive end Michael Matus committed to Arizona State via his Twitter page on Monday evening.

The 6-foot-2, 230-pound class of 2018 recruit is rated a three-star and the 35th best defensive end in the nation by Rivals. Matus is considered a three-star prospect by both Scout and 247 Sports.
Matus ran a 4.87 40-yard dash and was timed 4.20 on his 20-yard shuttle, which earned the fastest time in the nation, according to ESPN.
The Katy, Tex. native had received offers from 11 other schools including Army, Navy, Tulsa, Air Force, North Texas and Louisiana Monroe.
The pledge marks the seventh commitment the Sun Devils have garnered and the first defensive end for their 2018 class.
The Sun Devils currently have 13 defensive linemen on their roster. This season’s defensive front will be led by senior Tashon Smallwood and junior Jojo Wicker who led all Sun Devil defensive linemen with 68 combined tackles and a total of 20.5 tackles for loss.
