ASU Football: Notebook from Wednesday’s practice

Day number two.

The Arizona State Sun Devils held their second fall camp practice at the Kajikawa Practice Fields on Wednesday.

The Sun Devils performed stretches before going into ball security drills, tempo drills, board drills and ran several 11-on-11 plays.

Weather: 92 degrees with 46 percent humidity.

11-on-11 Rundown

Manny Wilkins: In one of Wilkins’s first plays, he connected with Harry for a 30-plus yard accurately thrown bomb to the middle of the field. He then threw a mix of completions and incompletions, but overall, threw accurately.

Blake Barnett: The redshirt sophomore completed a screen pass to Humphrey, before running a series of hand offs to Ralston. In one play, Barnett scrambled to find room and was touched in the backfield, which ended the play.

Dillon Sterling-Cole: The third-string QB handed the ball to Smith who ran for few gains of yardage. Then, Sterling cole rolled out of the pocket and threw a couple feet over the hands of a receiver running a flat route.

Special Teams

John O’Brien took three to four kicks from 20 to 40 yards and didn’t miss any. Christian Zendejas attempted a kick from about 40 yards and shanked it.

Brandon Ruiz hit over a 50-yard kick that skimmed the inside of the left post.
