QB Battle

Tempo Drills

In the first of the Sun Devils’ two separate 11-on-11 sequences, Manny Wilkins and Blake Barnett each had separate drives.

Wilkins began with a drive that started on his own 20-yard-line and ended near mid-field with an interception on a deep throw to the right side of the field.

Barnett’s drive started on the 20 yard line as well and ended in a touchdown pass to Chatman.

Full speed 11-on-11 sequences

Wilkins: In his first play, Wilkins tried to scramble away from a few linemen before he was touched near the line of scrimmage, and the play ended. Wilkins then handed the ball off to Ballage twice and Richard once before he threw a pass on a 5-yard curl route to Humphrey that fell incomplete.

Barnett: Eno Benjamin ran the ball in the first play, as Ralston ran the next two plays. In Barnett’s next play, he dropped back and threw a line drive dime to Chatman for a 15 to 20-yard gain.

*In a one play drill from the five yard line, Wilkins threw a touchdown pass to Wilson in the middle of the back end of the endzone.
