Kicker Zane Gonzalez made history against UCLA, as he kicked his way into the NCAA record book. On Oct. 8, 2016, Gonzalez made his 89th career field goal which set a new FBS record for career field goals made, passing former Florida State kicker Dustin Hopkins who set the record of 88 career field goals in 2012.
Gonzalez nailed a 46-yard field goal. It was l his third field goal of the game and gave the Sun Devils a 23-13 lead with 12:28 left in the fourth quarter. Gonzalez’s three field goals against UCLA helped lead the Sun Devils to a 23-20 victory.
