Patterson is rated as a three-star prospect by all major recruiting sites and joins Hamilton High School offensive lineman Hunter Mayginnes as the second OL addition of the offseason for the Devils.
The 6-foot-5, 285-pound lineman had 22 offers — according to rivals.com — including four other Pac-12 programs in Washington State, Utah, Arizona and California.
Patterson is much smaller than Mayginnes — most offensive lineman are — but he’s far more agile, constantly lining up at the guard or tackle position and shifting to the outside when the play develops.
He’s the 12th commitment the Sun Devils have received for the 2018 class and the sixth addition to the offensive side of the ball.
