The Arizona State Sun Devils received a commitment from Highland Community College (Kansas) inside linebacker Kendrick “Ironhead” Catis after he made an announcement via his Twitter page on Tuesday morning.

Catis, a 6-foot-1, 228-pound ILB from Deerfield Beach, Florida was titled a three-star recruit by Rivals, but had no rating from 247Sports or Scout.

In the midst of a 1-1 sophomore season with Highland CC, Catis has racked up 15 tackles and leads the Scotties with 3 12 tackles for loss. In his freshman season, Catis totaled 56 tackles (four for loss) and earned a season-high 12 tackles against Fort Scott CC.

Along with ASU, he received offers from Washington State, Southern Mississippi, Colorado State, Marshall and Arkansas State. Catis visited Arizona State just days prior to his commitment on the weekend of Sept. 9-10.

With Catis’s commitment, this marks Arizona State’s 13th commit in its 2018 class and third linebacker, as he joins three-star Christian LaValle of Mission Viejo HS (California) and four-star Reggie Hughes of Calabasas HS (California).

This being the Sun Devils’ second 2018 pledge to hail from a Kansas junior college, Catis will face off against fellow ASU commit, three-star tight end Brett Bell of Hutchinson CC, on Sept. 23.
