ASU Football: Notebook from Tuesday’s practice

The Arizona State Sun Devils hustled through stretches before performing ball security tackle, special teams and tempo drills at the Kajikawa practice field on Tuesday morning.

11-on-11 Rundown

Wilkins: The redshirt junior quarterback rolled out to the right side of the field and threw a ball away and out of bounds. The nearest receiver was Williams. Ballage then ran to the left side of the field and out of bounds for nearly six yards. On the next play, Wilkins threw a pass across the middle to Harry that was over his head and incomplete. Ballage to the opposite side of the field and out of bounds on his next run for about six yards.

Barnett: Trelon Smith took two handoffs up the middle for about three to four yards on each run. On the final play, Barnett dropped back and threw about 20 yards over the middle directed toward Darby, but it was batted away by Lucas.

Notes:

  • Demario Richard was wearing a brace on his right knee. He did not participate in any team offensive drills.
  • Todd Graham spent time during ball security with the kickers, punters and long snappers, teaching them how to tackle with a blocking sled
