Well, that was rough.

The No. 25 Arizona State Sun Devils (14-7, 5-4 Pac-12) went through a disastrous 40 minutes against the Stanford Cardinal (13-8, 7-2). Poor shooting, lack of rebounds and rushed offense led to a Cardinal 74-50 Cardinal win.

ASU shoot below average 37 percent from the field shooting 19-for-51 by the end of the game. Arizona State sophomore guard Robbi Ryan was the only player for the Sun Devils with double-digit points.

Stanford didn’t allow Arizona State any opportunity to catch up as the Cardinal for the entire game. Stanford senior guard Brittany McPhee lead the way for the Cardinal, as she hauled in 24 points shooting of 9-of-11 shooting.

Stanford also had the advantage in rebounds as they grabbed 33 boards compared to ASU’s 27.

Arizona State was desperate to get back into this game. Pushing the ball was an option and so was a fast tempo offense. In the midst of this game, The Sun Devils turned the ball over 14 times.

When the fourth quarter came around, Stanford showed no mercy outscoring ASU 20-10, putting the game away for good.

The Sun Devils now take on the No.23 California Golden Bears (15-5, 6-3) on Sunday at 4 p.m. MST.
