Arizona State, coming off its first loss of the season to rival Arizona, will play game two of its three-game conference road trip against Colorado (8-6, 0-2) on Thursday at 8:30.
Despite the Sun Devils (12-1, 0-1) first loss of the season, they only managed to drop one spot in the AP rankings to No. 4.
Colorado comes into this game losing its first two conference games after trips to Oregon State and Oregon. Prior to conference play, the Buffs have only played two Power-5 conference teams, Xavier and Iowa, in which Colorado fell victim to as well.
The Buffs started the season 6-0 but have lost six of their last eight while averaging just over 71 points in previous eight games. That number may seem like a solid average score but an outlier for this is a 112-point outburst in a double overtime win over South Dakota State.
On the other hand, ASU is dropping just a shade under 91 points while shooting 49.7 percent from the field per game.
Colorado is led by McKinley Wright, who is averaging 16 points, five assists and five rebounds.
“Guard U,” led by Tra Holder (22 PPG), Shannon Evans II (17 PPG), Kodi Justice (13 PPG) and Remy Martin (10.2 PPG), should overwhelm Wright and the Buffs backcourt easily.
Arizona State will head into Boulder looking to avenge their loss last week in Tucson. Expect the Sun Devils to win quite handedly.
