Due to the continued weather and muddy practice fields, the Devils were forced indoors for the second consecutive practice. How did the environment affect the performance today?
Last Practice: Wednesday, October 3
Next Practice: Tuesday, October 15
Music: Praise The Lord (ASAP Rocky ft. Skepta)
Injury Update:
Linebacker Jay Jay Wilson remained out for the practice. Offensive lineman Casey Tucker appeared from the bubble late in practice. Also joining them in the bubble were defensive back Ty Thomas and quarterback Ryan Kelley.
What went on
Quarterback Manny Wilkins, wide receiver N’Keal Harry and cornerback Kobe Williams were not present during the media viewing of practice. Wilkins and Harry came out of the bubble early on and left the practice fields back to the ASU facilities on a cart.
With Tucker out, Roy Hemsley took over at the left guard spot during the offensive line drills. Alex Losoya got the first team reps at right guard over Steven Miller.
11-on-11s did not occur during the media viewing portion of practice. Instead they were a lot of group positions on position drills. The offensive and defensive line worked against each other. Both groups also worked with the pads next to one another.
The running backs and linebackers worked on check down passes. Two linebackers would work on coverage communication, while the backs were finding the correct spot to turn around for the pass. The two later on went against each other in a light, pursuit and tackle drill. With no pads on Wednesday, there wasn’t tackling but just wrapping up. Eno Benjamin did watch most of the drills from the side, but much like Wilkins and Harry, he was most likely getting a rest.
