Injury Update

The players that spent practice in the bubble were quarterback Ryan Kelley, wide receiver Geordon Porter, tight end Jarick Caldwell and wide receiver John Humphrey.

What went on

There was a strong NFL scout presence at Tuesday’s practice, as representatives from the New York Jets, Los Angeles Chargers, Cleveland Browns, Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons were in attendance.

Paul Lucas and Isaiah Floyd were back deep returning kicks for ASU during special teams work.

The defensive linemen were working the sleds and were practicing keeping their hands close to their body when trying to shed blocks. Coaches were telling them to stay low and use their legs to power through blocks.

The quarterbacks were working on short routes by throwing to members of the scout team. The main routes that were done were slants and short, timing patterns.

Linebackers coach Antonio Pierce was the most vocal on Tuesday as he was coaching his unit. He wanted the linebackers to pick up their sleds and use their hips to put all their power through a ball carrier when making tackles.

The first team was the only visible portion of 11-on-11 drills during practice. ASU was practicing their overtime situation offense and defense.

The offense looked really good during these drills, as Wilkins easily found Brandon Aiyuk to put them on the goal line, and then handed off to Eno Benjamin for the touchdown on the next play.
