The Arizona State Sun Devils look to stay hot and pick up their fourth consecutive win this weekend against the Oregon Ducks. The task won’t be easy as the Autzen Stadium crowd will be looking to dampen ASU’s chances of winning the Pac-12 South.
Here are some Ducks to keep your out for on Saturday night.
Junior quarterback Justin Herbert — The Oregon quarterback is among the best in the country. Herbert has paced the Ducks offense all season, he’s thrown 25 touchdowns compared to only six interceptions in Oregon’s first 10 games.
Surprisingly, five of the six picks Herbert has thrown this season were during games at Autzen Stadium. With the Sun Devil defense finding more success in forcing their opponents to turn the ball over, expect them to be aggressive in trying to bait Herbert into throwing passes into tight coverage.
Junior wide receiver Dillon Mitchell — While ASU’s N’Keal Harry and Colorado’s Laviska Shenault Jr. receive a lot of attention in the South, neither are leading the Pac-12 in receiving yards.
Enter Dillon Mitchell. The 6’2” wide receiver has been especially hot of late as he’s caught four touchdowns in the Ducks last two games. He’s come alive in Pac-12 play after struggling a bit during non-conference play and quickly becoming Herbert’s favorite target.
Senior outside linebacker Justin Hollins — The Oregon defense has been decimated by injuries, a major reason for the Ducks dropping three of their last four contests.
Hollins is very adept at getting into the offense’s backfield. He leads the Ducks in both sacks and tackles for losses. ASU’s offensive line has done a tremendous job of keeping Manny Wilkins upright all season, and will need to contain Hollins in order to continue moving the ball with success.
