ASU Football: Practice report (11/6)

The Sun Devils prepare for their final home game of 2018.

ASU was back on the practice field Tuesday morning as they prepare for senior day on Saturday when they take on the UCLA Bruins.

Injury update

The normal players who missed practice due to longterm injuries included quarterback Ryan Kelley and wide receiver John Humphrey.

Wide receiver Ryan Newsome was in the bubble.

Defensive back Joey Bryant was wearing street clothes during practice.

What went on

Head coach Herm Edwards was roving around the different position groups more than normal on Tuesday morning. Edwards spent a good amount of time with the defensive linemen as they worked on a drill to try and strip the ball out of the quarterback’s hands.

Edwards stressed the importance of forcing fumbles and getting the football on the ground.

Brandon Aiyuk and Paul Lucas each took turns returning kickoffs during special teams drills.

Offensive linemen Casey Tucker and Alex Losoya as well as running back Eno Benjamin didn’t participate in 11-on-11 action but did work with their position groups during drills.

Vice president of university athletics Ray Anderson, was in attendance for the majority of practice.
