The No. 17 Devils (8-2) kept the wins coming after defeating Kansas State (7-3) 65-51 Sunday afternoon.

ASU was led by senior Sophia Elenga off the bench with 12 points. Senior Kianna, juniors Reili Richardson and Robbi Ryan each scored 10. Ibis was also two rebounds shy of a double-double. Senior Charnea Johnson-Chapman added eight points and eight rebounds as well.

Because this game was a lot closer, coach Charli Turner Thorne only used six of her reserves throughout the game. Richardson and senior Courtney Ekmark both totaled 30 minutes of playing time.

As a team, shooting was just under 50%, making 26 of their 60 attempts. they were however 12 of 15 from the free-throw line.

Something the Devils have not been used to in a few games was a deficit. The matchup presented four lead changes and three ties. ASU’s highest lead was 14 with only a minute left in the game.

ASU returns home for a Thursday afternoon matchup with the university on winter break.

The Devils welcome Fresno State (6-3) coming off a Friday victory over Stanislaus State.

This will also be ASU’s final non-conference game of the season before they face Arizona in Tucson on December 30th.

Thursday’s game will tipoff at 2 p.m. It can be streamed here or heard on NBC Sports Radio AM 1060.
