After seven other players that have already signed with the Devils on National Signing Day, wide receiver Geordon Porter became the eighth after inking with ASU on Wednesday.
The 6-foot-2, 175-pound native of Etiwanda, California was ranked as a three-star by both 247Sports and ESPN. ASU offensive coordinator Rob Likens and wide receivers coach Charlie Fischer visited Porter’s home less than a month ago.
Porter also had offers from Notre Dame, Texas A&M, Alabama and UCLA, among others.
Porter doesn’t bring N’Keal Harry-esque size to Tempe, but he does bring in a heavy dose of speed and quickness. 247Sports writes that Porter was clocked at a 4.40-second 40-second dash.
In his senior season, Porter played just six games but caught 23 passes for 468 yards and five touchdowns.
