According to 247Sports, the only power five offer that linebacker Darien Butler had was Arizona State. So, most weren’t surprised when he signed his ASU letter of intent on Wednesday but, regardless, the Sun Devils just bolstered their front-seven depth.

Butler is rated as a three-star by both 247Sports and ESPN. The Harbor City, California native also had offers from Boise State, New Mexico and Hawaii, among others.
The 5-foot-11, 215-pound linebacker visited ASU on two separate occasions — January 12 and January 25 — and linebackers coach Antonio Pierce even paid a visit to Butler’s home on January 17.
