Serbian 7-foot-1, 225-pound center Uros Plavsic signed with the Arizona State Sun Devils during his official visit this week, Evan Daniels of 247Sports and DevilsDigest reported Thursday morning.
Plasvic, a product of Hamilton Heights Christian Academy (Chattanooga), is rated a four-star by 247Sports and a three-star by Rivals. He originally committed to Cleveland State in October of 2017, before re-opening his recruitment on March 30.
“They were short the past two seasons... they really needed a big guy and they can use me inside or can pass outside. They really need a big guy and I think I can help them out a lot next season,” Plasvic told 247sports.com.
He averaged 9.6 points and a team-high 7.5 rebounds in his senior year of high school. The last player taller than Plavsic to hit the Tempe hardwood was 7-foot-2 Jordan Bachynski in 2014.
Along with four-star Elias Valtonen and five stars Taeshon Cherry and Luguentz Dort, the Sun Devils rank No. 8 on 247Sports’ and No. 17 on Rivals’ recruiting class rankings.
ASU loses its senior trio of Kodi Justice, Tra Holder and Shannon Evans, but regains each of its big men in 6-foot-8 Romello White, 6-8 De’Quon Lake, 6-7 Kimani Lawrence, 6-7 Mickey Mitchell and 6-9 Vitaliy Shibel.
The Sun Devils add the likes of transfers Zylan Cheatham and Rob Edwards to their 2018 roster as well.
Plavsic’s ability to pass, post and shot from long range can all be found in his hoop mixtape:
