ASU Football: Fall practice No. 15

A week from this practice the Sun Devils will be playing their first game under Herm Edwards.

Injury Update

Steven Miller returned to practice with a maroon jersey. He ran with the first team through all the drills and walkthroughs.

Linebacker Koron Crump continued to work just drills with the linebackers. Everyday he continues to get closer to full speed.

Safety Demonte King returned to practice after missing one day. Defensive back Evan Fields also shadowed the Tillman position during the defensive walkthroughs.

The bubble players of the night were wide receiver John Humphrey (out for the season with achilles), offensive lineman Zach Robertson, defensive back K.J. Jarrell, defensive lineman Nami Tuitu’i and quarterback Ryan Kelley.

What went on?

Linebackers continued to work on turnovers. LB coach Antonio Pierce kept threw balls at his guys to make them read his eyes for interceptions. They continued to attempt to strip the ball velcroed to the dummy. The starting Mike Darien Butler took the entire ball running away with it saying, “I’m outta here.”

And of course the tennis balls returned.

Running backs worked on blocking with the dummies. The defensive line weaved through dummies with coach Nua throwing certain ones toward them.

Defensive lineman Jordan Hoyt wore a scout team jersey.
