There’s a lot of questions surrounding the quarterback position as the Sun Devils prepare to head to Oregon State this week.
Last Practice: Wednesday, November 6
Next Practice: Wednesday, November 13
Quarterback Jayden Daniels practice in full gear and his sweatpants, the same attire he wore last week in practice despite not playing against USC.
Joey Yellen, who started in place of Daniels last Saturday, suffered a shoulder injury against the Trojans. He did not wear pads on Tuesday and didn’t practice.
Safety Cam Phillips was not observed at practice. He left Saturday’s game against USC. Fellow safety Willie Harts also left the game, he was present at practice but was not dressed like Yellen.
What Went On
Daniels took the first team reps in the small 11-on-11 portion. He looked like someone who will play on Saturday, but he also did last week. With Yellen out, Ethan Long took the second team reps as well.
Kobe Williams played safety where he’s rotated to a lot before. Although, the absence of Cam Phillips appears Williams will play a full game there. It’s a good guess that the Sun Devils will use more cornerbacks who haven’t seen a lot of playing time at the position such as Timarcus Davis if Phillips and Harts are out.
And just for the knowledge of it, in the case that Daniels and Yellen both couldn’t play on Saturday, walk on Trenton Bourguet would back up Long.
