Four home runs and an offensive explosion for Arizona State (33-18, 13-11 Pac-12) helped bring out the brooms in their sweep over Oregon (22-30, 5-19) on Saturday. Twelve hits matched the Sun Devils’ runs in the 12-4 win.

The Hackbarth twins repeated their homers from Friday as they both homered in the third inning. Maddi leads the team with 19, followed by her sister Kindra at 16 blasts this season. The big six-run third proved to be the biggest difference in the contest. Sophomore third baseman Kiara Kennedy led off the frame with her first conference home run. Senior left fielder Skylar McCarty also doubled in a run.

Junior shortstop Jade Gortarez continued her hot weekend, as her 100th career Sun Devil hit came in the shape of a home run. Sophomore second baseman Bella Loomis quietly added three hits and scored three times, one off the bat of senior center fielder Morgan Howe’s triple.

ASU head coach Trisha Ford handed the first part of the game to her freshmen in the circle. Abby Andersen and Mikayla Santa Cruz went 3.1 innings for ASU, but after the Ducks scored four runs, Ford went back to her normal duo. Cielo Meza and Samantha Mejia closed out the win with how they had pitched all weekend. Scoreless 2.2 innings propelled the Sun Devils to close the regular season winners of eight of their last nine.

The Sun Devils will find out their postseason destiny on Sunday with the NCAA Selection Show at 6:00 p.m. on ESPN2.
