Monday was a good day to be a Sun Devil. Not too long after the ASU baseball team received its first postseason bid since 2016, the football team got another Sun Devil of the future. Alonzo Fontenette told the people of Twitter he’d commit to Herm Edwards’ squad:

Fontenette will attend Oaks Christian High School in Westlake Village, California, last season he played at Bishop Alemany, where he was teammates with now-freshman offensive lineman Dohnovan West. According to 247Sports, he is rated as a three-star recruit. Fontenette is still early in his recruiting process and has only received other offers from Washington State and Nevada.
Fontenette is listed as 6-foot-1 and 165 pounds. He ranked is the 20th best player in the state of California and the 44th wide receiver in the nation according to 247Sports. The recruiting website also lists him as the 266th best player in the nation at the moment.
He is the second commit in the past week for the Sun Devils joining 2020 offensive lineman Ben Bray. Bray is one of four 2020 class members thus far along with wide receiver Chad Johnson Jr., athlete T Lee and junior college defensive end Alex Lemon.
