Antonio Pierce added to his linebacker group with a commitment from nearby Saguaro High School on Wednesday evening.

Will Shaffer made his intentions known and elected to commit to ASU.

A member of the 2020 recruiting class, Shaffer is a three-star recruit, according to 247Sports and Rivals.

Shaffer attended ASU games growing up in the area, and aside from the Sun Devils, he also fielded offers from Memphis, Northern Arizona, Air Force, and Texas State. Shaffer had 52 total tackles in 13 games during the 2018 season for the Sabercats in an effort that culminated in a 4A State Championship for the high school powerhouse from Scottsdale.

He was a two-way player at Saguaro who is listed as an athlete, but will most likely suit up as an LB for Pierce and the defense. Shaffer joins wide receiver Chad Johnson Jr., athlete T Lee, offensive lineman Ben Bray, and cornerback Macen Williams in the 2020 class.
