Update: Micah Soliai Howlett decommitted from the Sun Devils in September for Hawaii instead

The Sun Devils took advantage of a two for one deal on Thursday. First, Hawaiian offensive lineman Micah Soliai Howlett announced his pledge to ASU.

Shortly after him, a local product from Peoria’s Liberty High School, Frank Thompson also joined the 2020 class.

Soliai Howlett, who is from Kahuku , Hawaii, is rated by Rivals as a two-star, with 247Sports having him as a three-star. Projected as a guard, he stands at 6-foot-4, 288 pounds. He also holds offers from Hawaii, Fresno State, Navy and Nevada.

Thompson is 6-foot-3, 285 pounds. He also had an offer from Northern Arizona. 247Sports does not having a ranking on him and Rivals puts him as a two-star.

Reminder that both recruits have another season of high school play and rankings can change.

ASU is actively pursuing offensive linemen due to the fact after this season six players will graduate. Thus why they gained a commitment from Ben Bray already and a transfer from Oregon, Cody Shear, who will have to sit out the 2019 season unless he receives a cleared waiver.

Soliai Howlett, Thompson, Bray join the 2020 class along with wide receiver Chad Johnson Jr., athlete T Lee, cornerback Macen Williams and linebacker Will Shaffer.
