ASU just added to its secondary. DeAngelo “DJ” Taylor out of Tampa Catholic High School has committed to the Sun Devils.

He chose ASU over other power-five programs such as Duke, Iowa State, and Michigan State. The recruit out of Florida made his decision public with a video announcement at 5 p.m. Arizona time.

According to 247Sports, Taylor is listed as a four-star recruit who is the No. 30 top defensive back in the country and one of the top-50 recruits in the state of Florida. He is listed as a three-star on Rivals.

Taylor adds to a list of players who have committed to come play in Tempe this week. Taylor is the seventh commit of the 2020 class.

The defensive back joins wide receiver Chad Johnson Jr., athlete T Lee, cornerback Macen Williams, linebacker Will Shaffer, and offensive linemen Micah Soliai Howlett and Frank Thompson.

Taylor is also the first commit out of the 2020 class from Florida, as the Sun Devil staff continues further outreach not only throughout Arizona and California, but around the country.
