Everyone loves a two-for-one deal. Arizona State shopped efficiently for this next Sun Devil with Blake Shapen’s tweet on Saturday:

Shapen is currently attending Evangel Christian Academy in Shreveport, Louisiana. According to 247Sports and Rivals, he is rated as a three-star quarterback. He also received offers from Ole Miss, Arizona, Louisiana-Lafayette and Arkansas State.

With a 6-foot-1 and 188 pound frame, Shapen is ranked as the 59th best player in Louisiana and 45th pro style quarterback in the nation according to 247Sports.

Shapen also plans on playing baseball in the Maroon and Gold. His work on the diamond may complicate his college plans. Part of the USA Baseball development program, he’ll most likely hear his name called in the 2020 MLB Draft, where he then will make a decision about his future.

He joins the 2020 football recruiting class of wide receiver Chad Johnson Jr., athlete T Lee, cornerback Macen Williams, linebacker Will Shaffer, defensive back DJ Taylor and offensive linemen Micah Soliai Howlett and Frank Thompson.
