The rundown: The first time in program history the Sun Devils reached the Elite Eight. Stanford plagued ASU all season as the Cardinal beat the Sun Devils three times. However, ASU was 33-2 against everyone else they faced that season. In the tournament, ASU beat UC Riverside, Louisville and Bowling Green, the Sun Devils, a three-seed, faced four-seed Rutgers for a chance at the Final Four, but fell to the eventual NCAA runner-up.

The rundown: The Sun Devils only lost once in Omaha, but didn’t bring home the title. After three blowout wins against Florida State, Miami and Long Beach State, ASU fell to USC in the final 21-14. This was ASU’s best finish since.
