In the week of preseason honors, another Sun Devil received an accolade. Senior center Cohl Cabral was announced to the Rimington Trophy, given annually to the nation’s most outstanding center, on Friday.
Last year, Cabral made the move to center after starting his entire sophomore season at left tackle. In his 13 starts, he didn’t allow a single sack. That put him among the 15 centers in the entire Power 5 to not allow one.
Heading into this season Cabral will head an offensive line group that is expected to be entirely seniors. They’ll need to lead the way for Eno Benjamin and the bigger duty of protecting a first-time starting quarterback based on whomever wins the job.
