No. 4 1974-75 MBB
Record: 25-4, 12-2 in WAC, Reached Elite Eight
Head coach: Ned Wulk
Notable players: Lionel Hollins, Rudy White, Scott Lloyd
The rundown: Another Ned Wulk team that reached the Elite Eight, but this featured one of ASU’s best players in history Lionel Hollins, who later became a NBA head coach. Wulk’s team only lost four contests all season; Oregon, Colorado State, UTEP and UCLA. The Bruins stood in the way the Elite Eight, the Sun Devils fell to the eventually champions.
No. 12 2018-19 Hockey
Record: 21-13-1, eliminated in first round of NCAA’s, First-ever NCAA Tournament Berth

Notable players: Johnny Walker, Joey Daccord, Brinson Pasichnuk
The rundown: The lasting memory of this group of Sun Devils’ might be a little more fresh in the minds for ASU fans. In just their fourth year at the Division I level, the group made the 16-team NCAA Ice Hockey Tournament. They accomplished the task as an independent team, becoming the first college hockey program in 27 years to capture the feat. The squad featured two Hobey Baker candidates in sophomore forward Johnny Walker and junior goaltender Joey Daccord. Furthermore, after ASU was eliminated by Quinnipiac in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, Daccord became the first Sun Devil hockey player to ever play in the National Hockey League (NHL) when he made his debut on April 4, 2019 as an Ottawa Senator.
