ASU football is back in Tempe after a wild finish in East Lansing, Saturday against Michigan State. The Sun Devils were able to pull off the upset and reach the top-25 for the first time this year. Now, the Sun Devils prepare for their first PAC-12 game against the Colorado Buffaloes. Here’s what we saw from our 25-minute viewing period.

Injury Update
Linebackers Stanley Lambert and Kyle Soelle were in green non-contact jerseys today at practice. Redshirt senior center Cade Cote was seen without his scooter at practice today, walking in cleats. Cote earned the starting center spot before breaking his foot the Sunday before the season opener.
Linebacker Tyler Johnson was seen leaving the bubble after warmups but went back in as the media left.
Kicker Brandon Ruiz was back on the practice field taking kickoffs and putting them in the back of the end zone.
What Went On
Evan Fields was named the team’s ManDrake award winner after his play against Michigan State. Fields finished with a career high/team high of 13 tackles.

In the media session, special teams was another heavy fixture for the Sun Devils. Special teams coach Shawn Slocum had the players work on kick/punt returns. Wide Receivers Brandon Aiyuk, Brandon Pierce and defensive back Jack Jones were back returning kicks. Special teams also worked on onside kicks.
After Saturday’s game, head coach Herm Edwards had alluded to the change in the offensive line and wanting to keep it solid for the rest of the year. In today’s practice all five starters from Saturday took first team snaps. Offensive lineman Dave Christensen pointed out to his players to, “Block through the whistle.”
Quarterback Dillion Sterling-Cole wasn’t seen at practice during the media viewing session.
