On Wednesday, Pac-12 football preseason media poll was released. Arizona State was picked to finished second in the South, and received the third most votes of any team.
South
- USC (32) — 220 points
- Arizona State (2) — 181
- Utah (4) — 168
- UCLA — 109
- Colorado — 63
- Arizona — 57
North
- Oregon (35) — 222
- Cal (3) — 176
- Washington — 161
- Stanford — 105
- Oregon State — 76
- Washington State — 58
(Points scored 6-5-4-3-2-1 for each division, first-place votes in parentheses)
Arizona State might have an advantage playing USC the first week of the season because the Sun Devils have had a longer offseason together than USC due to certain state regulations. Winning the season opener might be the difference in the South.
Meanwhile, the Sun Devils also get Cal, their lone North opponent on the schedule, the second place in its respective division. Also the Sun Devils got most of the higher rated teams at home, Cal, Utah and UCLA.
What are your thoughts? Arizona State too high or low?
