As Coronavirus continues to spread and more athletic seasons are getting postponed or canceled, we decided to take a look at what Sun Devil student-athletes and prominent figures in Tempe have been saying over social media about the unfortunate circumstances that they have been thrust into.
On Friday, it was announced that spring athletes would be given an extra year of eligibility after their season was cut far too short. Winter sports is still up in the air at the moment.
Here is what some players, coaches, and influential figures around ASU athletic programs have had to say.
ASU Basketball, senior Forward Mickey Mitchell

This is March Sadness for everyone. But we have a responsibility to acknowledge the 68 teams who would’ve made the field. These student-athletes deserve to hear their name called! https://t.co/A78TXhgULb

I respect the NCAA’s decision to put everyone’s safety first. That said, every team deserves recognition for their season’s success. Brackets should still be announced on Selection Sunday.

If this is the case, Spencer Torkelson’s incredible college career will be finished without a proper sendoff.
