The Rundown:

Just two days prior, the Sun Devils defeated No. 2 Oregon.

They made history again, pulling off another upset when they beat the Beavers. It was the first time since 2010 that an unranked NCAA team knocked off AP top-five teams in consecutive games.

The Sun Devils came out hot and maintained a lead throughout the first half, but the Beavers started to find their groove late in the third quarter. They went on a 7-0 run to tie things up at 45 with three minutes remaining in the game.

Senior guard Robbi Ryan gave her team momentum after her layup led to a 10-2 run by the Devils, allowing them to regain the lead in the fourth quarter. Senior Reili Richardson added to ASU’s lead with six free throws to officially seal the victory.

Oregon State went 1-for-5 and committed two turnovers after tying the game.

ASU senior Ja’Tavia Tapley was also a spark, coming up with 14 points and six rebounds. Coach Charli Turner Thorne said postgame that she believed in her team and knew that they could win both big matchups that weekend.
