ASU Basketball: Khalid Thomas entering the transfer portal

Juco forward moving on

NCAA Basketball: Washington State at Arizona State Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

Last summer, the Sun Devils landed a top JUCO transfer in Khalid Thomas. After one season in Tempe, Thomas is entering the transfer portal according to ESPN’s Jeff Borzello.

In his lone year as a Sun Devil, he played 23 games and averaged 8.5 minutes in them. Thomas scored 2.6 points and 1.4 rebounds on average. Thomas’ role ended up being behind Mickey Mitchell and Taeshon Cherry for most of the season. His sample size was small but he proved to be a good 3-point shooter with a .462 shooting percentage from deep.

Thomas is the third player to announce his movement along with Elias Valtonen and Kyle Feit, a non-scholarship player.

The 6-foot-9 forward will probably have plenty of suitors as Oregon, Texas Tech, Arizona, Florida State, LSU, West Virginia, Oklahoma and more.
