After a lot of waiting, five-star guard Josh Christopher finally came forth with his college announcement on Monday night, as the Mayfair High School shooting guard committed to Arizona State.
Christopher is the second five-star recruit to come to Tempe next to only James Harden, who was the No. 14 overall recruit in the 2007 class and is now with the Houston Rockets.

Christopher is the No. 3 shooting guard and the No. 20 overall prospect in the 2020 class, per 247Sports.
Among other schools that had interest in the coveted guard, Christopher was recruited by UCLA, Missouri, and Michigan. The Wolverines appeared to be a late front runner, and 247Sports had Christopher’s crystal ball leaning toward heading to Ann Arbor, but the talented backcourt player went with the Sun Devils instead.
Christopher is listed at 6-foot-5, 215-pounds, and he joins Marcus Bagley in the 2020 recruiting class. Arizona State also landed Portland State transfer and guard Holland Woods on Saturday, adding to the future of the Sun Devil backcourt.
And of course, Christopher will be on the same roster as his brother, Caleb, by coming to Tempe.
