Despite having more nationwide recruiting in the 2021 class, Arizona State is still looking for Cali Devils, and they got one on Saturday evening. Austin Barry from Riverside, Calif. made his pledge to Herm Edwards and company on Twitter.

247Sports and Rivals ranks Barry as a three-star, and he is 6-foot-6, 260 pounds. He is the third o-line commit of the week, and the Sun Devils’ fifth offensive tackle. All of their offensive linemen in the group have been tackles.

Barry attends John W. North High School, and his final two choices came down to his hometown school at UCLA, or the Sun Devils.

Ultimately, ASU was able to receive the commitment with Barry’s recruitment being led by Kevin Mawae and offensive assistant Adam Breneman.

Although he wasn’t able to visit with coaches or tour the facilities, Barry visited ASU’s campus back in June during the dead period.

He had other offers from Pac-12 destinations such as Colorado, Utah, Washington State, and Cal. Other schools that were interested included Boise State, San Diego State, UNLV, Hawaii, and Cornell, just to name a few.

With the commitment, ASU now has 18 players in its 2021 class, and it’s a group that is full of size. The Sun Devils have 11 players who are 6-foot-5 or taller. The group moves up as the No. 4 ranked recruiting class in the Pac-12, and No. 31 nationally according to 247Sports.

Here is a look at Barry’s highlights at John W. North:
