After multiple reports over the weekend that Pac-12 college football players were threatening to opt out of the 2020 season if demands for player safety and racial issues were not met, things went public. The group put out a list through the Players Tribune on Sunday morning.

The list included four main points:

I. Health & Safety Protections

II. Protect All Sports

III. End Racial Injustice in College Sports and Society

IV. Economic Freedom and Equity

A few bullet points under these subjects included Player-approved health standards enforced by 3rd party, 50% of revenue distributed evenly to athletes, medical insurance for six years after college, reduce pay of Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott, coaches, administrators, prohibit/void COVID-19 agreements that waive liability and 2% of revenue to support financial aid for low-income Black students & community initiatives.

A report from the Mercury News also included a media contacts from various schools that included Oregon’s Jevon Holland, who is a potential first round draft pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Arizona State and former Duck Cody Shear was also listed as a contact with Cal’s Jake Curhan, Valentino Daltoso and Joshua Drayden, Oregon State’s Jayden Grant, UCLA’s Elisha Guidry, Arizona’s Malik Hausman, Washington State’s Dallas Hobbs, Washington’s Ty Jones, Washington’s Joe Tyron, and Stanford’s Treyjohn Butler.

How do you feel about the players’ demands and what they are trying to stand up for?
