Over the past few days, two Arizona State squads added talent through the transfer portal. Sanja Tomasevic and Sun Devil Volleyball announced the addition of of outside hitter Regan Tinkle from Georgia. Meanwhile on the diamond, Trisha Ford’s program made it official with adding a power bat in Brittany Holland from Louisiana Lafayette.
Tinkle is only a freshman and will be eligible for this upcoming season in the spring. The 6-foot-1 hitter was an excellent player at Hagerstown high school in Indiana.
She was two-time Tri-Eastern Conference Player of the Year, four-time all-conference honoree and all-district, all-state and team MVP honors in 2018 and 2019.
“Regan is a good pin to add to our young group,” Tomasevic said in a statement. “She comes to us after playing at the high level and we believe she will make our gym better.”
Holland, who grew up in Arizona, spent three seasons with the Ragin’ Cajuns. After two years lost to injury, she saw action in 11 games in the shortened 2020 season. Holland can play either corner infield position, but her most valuable asset is her powerful bat.
That was displayed her freshman year at Central Arizona College, where she was an NJCAA first team All-American after a .471 batting average, 15 home runs and 81 RBIs.
Louisiana Lafayette has to give Holland a transfer release to be eligible for the 2021 season, but that is expected. She should have at least two years of eligibility left.
