Day One consisted of Fourball or “Best Ball” and Single matches. Arizona holds a one point lead heading into Day Two, as top-ranked Arizona State trails 6.5-5.5.
Fourball
Arizona State’s David Puig and Ryggs Johnston won the first grouping 7&5 (meaning that they were leading by seven with five holes left). The Puig and Johnson pairing fell behind early before taking control from Hole 4 on.
Cameron Sisk and Mason Andersen earned another point for the Sun Devils after taking the lead on Hole 17 and closing it out on 18.
Meanwhile, Arizona’s pairings of Brad Reeves/David Laskin and Briggs Duce/Christian Banke earned two points for the Wildcats, meaning it was tied after the cup’s first event.
